Thierry Cellier owns and operates The Heritage Safari Company. Thierry has been roaming the African continent for the past 25 years, ten of them in West and Central Africa working in logistics on development and humanitarian projects for a French aid agency and fifteen in the tourism industry, with two of the leading safari companies in Kenya and Tanzania.

During these years, he worked on all aspects of safari, from organizing itineraries and assisting the single traveller, family groups and tour parties up to large incentive groups of over 150 guests; outfitting TV and film crews, including some high-profile prime-time broadcasts; professional photographers; mountain treks; arranging mobile exclusive safari camps in remote, wonderful and less well-known areas of East Africa.

Thierry has personally reached the summits of Mount Kilimanjaro (all routes); Mount Kenya; Ol Donyo L’ Engai; Mount Meru; and in the Ruwenzori and Virunga ranges.

Born and raised in France, his passion for the African continent came very young while reading novels by Joseph Kessel and Henry de Monfreid among others and he was carried away by magical names and images such as Tanganyika, Kilimanjaro, Abyssinia and Serengeti. Nowadays, Thierry would like to share his knowledge and passion for Africa with you to create a genuine wilderness experience and your “safari of a lifetime.”

In and beyond Africa:
Thierry has crossed the Sahara twice
Sailed around Cape Horn
Travelled in Alaska and Tierra del Fuego
Rode motorbikes to the North Cape and to the Cape of Good Hope
Trekked in the Altai Mountains in Mongolia
