
A World Heritage Site, the Bwindi forest park is sanctuary for half of the world’s population of mountain gorillas.Hacking through the forest in search for gorillas is a great adventure and experience.
The park stretches from the foothills of the Rwenzori range in the north and along the shores of Lake Edward to the west. The fauna includes elephant, buffalo, hippo, topi, giant forest hog.
The Nile river is forced through a narrow gorge at the falls and drops 122 m (400 ft) in three separate cascades and flows westward into Lake Albert. Elephants, buffalos, giraffes, huge crocodiles, hippos and a variety of antelope are regularly encountered on game drives. On a boat launch on the river you may watch incredible birdlife , especially the rare shoebill stork.
Walks in the equatorial rainforest in search of the 12 primate species inhabiting the forest, Chimpanzee, red colobus, red tailed monkey, blue monkey, olive baboon, grey cheeked mangabey. The park is renowned for its highest concentration of primates in East Africa.
