Thierry Cellier

Owner

Thierry Cellier was born and raised in France and has always had an insatiable passion for the great outdoors. Thierry founded The Heritage safari Company in 2010 after 25 years of adventure in Africa. In the mid-eighties Thierry worked for an aid agency, running complex logistical operations in West and Central Africa. In 1995 Thierry had the opportunity to move to East Africa and join the safari industry in Tanzania and later in Kenya. East Africa offered him a captivating lifestyle and extensive safari experience – managing camps, mobile camps in isolated areas, fleet of vehicles, Kilimanjaro climbing crew, guiding clients and operating a safari company as managing director. During these years in Africa, Thierry has been fortunate enough to travel through thirty countries, from Cairo to Cape Town and from Dakar to Djibouti. He has crossed the Sahara twice, climbed Mount Kilimanjaro four times, Mount Kenya twice, Mount Meru, Ol Donyo Lengai, canoed the Niger and Zambezi rivers. Outside of Africa, he has sailed around Cape Horn, trekked through the Altai Mountains in Mongolia, rainforests of Costa Rica, rode camel in the Thar Desert, travelled in Alaska and Tierra del Fuego in search of great escapes. Thierry continues to travel to Africa regularly, exploring new places.

Jen Lubey

Tour Specialist

Jen Lubey was born and raised in Western Canada and has lived in Calgary, Alberta for over 40 years. A seasoned traveler and tour designer, Jen brings several years’ experience to ‘The Heritage Safari Company’ and loves to share her passion for adventure and travel. Within Africa she has visited Kenya, Tanzania, Uganda, Rwanda, Botswana, South Africa, Zimbabwe, Zambia, Namibia & Egypt, having experienced many of the milestone adventures that include Mount Kilimanjaro, gorilla & chimpanzee treks, Namibia desert hikes, various wildlife and cultural safaris and scuba diving in the Indian Ocean. Jen too is very familiar with Ecuador, the Galapagos Islands, Costa Rica, Peru, and has trekked several times to Machu Picchu. She continues to regularly visit these parts as well as explore new exciting places. When Jen works with clients to craft their unique African and South American adventures, she wants to ensure their experiences are as phenomenal and life-changing as hers were. She also takes special interest in organizing group tours and is happy to match like-minded couples so can travel together for companionship and tour cost savings. An accountant in her previous career, she combines a professional’s focus on client service, attention to detail and a high level of organization with a spirited love for travel and adventure. Margaret Cellier

Administration

Canadian-born Margaret caught the travel bug as a kid, when her parents would take the family on summer road trips along the North American East Coast. After completing public relations studies in Paris and working there for a couple of years, she followed her husband to Arusha, Tanzania, where she was hired as the general manager for a leading safari operator. Margaret traveled extensively throughout Eastern and Southern Africa, North America, Europe, New Zealand and Mongolia. She now calls Vancouver home and can be found hiking the North Shore mountains in her free time
