Jen, I wanted to thank you (and Heritage Safari) for planning a wonderful trip for us. All of the camps and hotels were truly lovely, and I think the phrase “tented camp” does not really do justice to camps we stayed at. They were all beautifully designed, and the tents were quite luxurious for being right out there in the landscape. The staff were uniformly friendly and welcoming, and it was a pleasure to deal with them at every location. I think the Grumeti Hills Tented Camp was our favorite, because of the beautiful location, incredible views, beautifully designed lodge, and warm staff. And the walking safari and night safari at this camp were outstanding. The Ngorongoro Farm House was also beautiful beyond words. I also wanted to mention how much we appreciated your attention to detail for all the tours, plane tickets, boat rides, and transfers; we never had to worry about anything at all during the entire trip. Special thanks to Mount Kilimanjaro Safari Club and especially our guide Godwin Laiza. Godwin was a great guide; he was knowledgable, patient, funny, and kind. His driving skills on those unpaved rocky roads were amazing! He had the vision of a hawk and could spot game in the landscape that the rest of us could only see with binoculars. He really elevated the entire safari from excellent to exceptional. His love of Tanzania and the wildlife was clear, and it was a real pleasure to have met him. We also enjoyed our Spice Tour and Stone Town walking tour on Zanibar with Musa. He really knew his subjects, and it was a pleasure listening to him. He also shared some of the heart and spirit of Zanzibar with us, and he made our day really special. Finally, we loved the Z Hotel on Zanzibar, and it was the perfect way to end our trip to Tanzania with a little bit of luxury. The staff was incredible, and we hope to return some day. Here is my favorite picture; we came around a bend in the road in Tarangire National Park and found a small group of elephants. The bull challenged our truck while the rest of the herd walked away, but luckily he let us go on our way!
