Sue and Jeff B. Coquitlam BC | Tanzania, Zimbabwe, Botswana & South Africa | May 2017

Hi Thierry, We had a spectacular first time adventure to Africa as arranged through Heritage Safari Travel. Thierry proved to be knowledgeable and flexible in building a great trip to suit our plans. In all, we spent 23 days traversing South Eastern Africa – Tanzania, Zimbabwe, Zambia, Botswana and South Africa. We started with a 6 person guided safari through Tanzania – we were met at Arusha airport by a very good guide and spent the next 10 days with our small group exploring the wildlife in the Tanzanian parks and ultimately the Serengeti! We saw part of the Great Migration- thousands of animals moving through the plains. We easily saw the Big 5 in Tanzania but also saw so many other animals and birds in an ever-changing landscape. Our nightly accommodations were safari camps and lodges – typically glamorous tents with queen size beds, full bathroom facilities and sometimes with additional outdoor showers – each one unique in location and ambiance. The meals provided both at the camps and for safari picnic lunches exceeded our expectations. Each day got better and better, the animal encounters, the scenery, the food and accommodation. The itinerary moved from the 10 day safari in Tanzania to 2 days in Victoria Falls, to 6 days in 3 separate safari camps in Botswana that were fly in/ fly out around the Okavango Delta to 4 days in Cape Town South Africa at the V and A Waterfront. The camps, wildlife, food, and guides in Botswana were great with the mokoro boats on the Okavango Delta just one of the many highlights. We saw animals from a high top jeep, open jeep, on foot, from mokoro boats, cruising on the Chobe River in Botswana and from small planes flying over Botswana. In Cape Town, we rented a car and drove hundreds of kilometers of the coastline to the Cape of Good Hope and to Hermanus – we visited isolated beaches and penguins colonies. We spent time wandering the Cape Town water front, hiking up Signal Hill and taking the gondola to the top of Table Top Mountain for the spectacular views. The waterfront at Cape Town has a variety of high end shopping opportunities as well as a local craft market and food market. Numerous restaurants and excursions are available along the waterfront.
It was a trip of a lifetime. Thank you, Sue and Jeff Brace Coquitlam, BC
