• Day 2 Nairobi

  This morning we will visit the Sheldrick Elephant Orphanage, founded by Daphne Sheldrick, the widow of  the late David Sheldrick, one of Kenya’s best known Game Warden. The animal orphanage rehabilitates baby elephants (and rhinos) traumatized from the loss of their families, mostly due to poaching. Lunch at Karen Coffee Garden. In afternoon we will see the endangered Rothschild  giraffe up close at the Giraffe Center and visit the Karen Blixen Museum at the foot of the Ngong Hills.

• Day 3 Ol Pejeta Conservancy

  This morning with our driver/guides we will head to the Ol Pajeta Conservancy in comfortable 4×4 Land Cruisers.  The Ol Pejeta Conservancy, which is host to all the members of the ‘Big Five’ (elephant, rhino, lion, buffalo and leopard), has a higher wildlife-to-area ratio than any Kenyan national park and is one of only four private game conservancies to have been founded in Kenya.
  Game viewing in the conservancy and visit to the Chimpanzee sanctuary, home to 42 rescued chimps who live on 2 islands between the Ng’iro River. The Sanctuary was established  in 1993 by the Jane Goodall Institute and the Kenya Wildlife Service.

• Day 4 Lake Nakuru

  After breakfast depart for Lake Nakuru National Park arriving in good time for lunch at Lion Hill lodge, the lodge is ideally located inside the park on the hilly shores of lake Nakuru.  Afternoon game drive in the park  famous for its large concentration of flamingos. The park has been declared a black rhino sanctuary.

• Day 5 Masai Mara

  After breakfast we will depart to the famous Masai Mara Game Reserve  through the spectacular Great Rift Valley. Lunch en route. Enjoy an afternoon game drive in the Masai Mara, we shall have an opportunity to see the full range of African Wildlife;  herds of wildebeest, zebra, buffalo, lion, cheetah, giraffe and elephant. Several other animals are found in large numbers in the reserve.

• Day 6 Masai Mara

  A full day to explore the Mara plains with unlimited game drives.
  Located at the very centre of the famous ‘Mara Triangle’ of the world-renowned Masai Mara National Reserve, the Mara Serena Safari Lodge is the ultimate safari destination. Set high on a bush-cloaked hill with long views over the savannah and down to the winding coils of the hippo-filled Mara River, it stands centre-stage to one of Africa’s most dramatic wildlife arenas, with a ringside seat for the ‘greatest wildlife show on earth’, the legendary migration of the wildebeest.

• Day 7 Serengeti National Park

  After breakfast, transfer to the airstrip for your flight to Migori. Road transfer to Tarime, border crossing at Isebania. Flight Tarime Serengeti.  20kg baggage allowance inclusive of hand luggage
  Welcome by your personal driver guide at the airstrip and proceed on game drive. Serengeti means endless plains in Maasai language, an appropriate word to describe the largest Tanzania National park. The park is famous for its incredible variety of wildlife species, huge herds of wildebeest and zebra,  predators such as lions, cheetahs, leopards, making Serengeti the world’s most exciting wildlife environment.

• Day 8 & 9 Serengeti National Park

  2  full days in Serengeti National Park with morning and afternoon game drives, in search of the big five.

• Day 10 Ngorongoro Crater

  After breakfast we will leave with picnic for the Ngorongoro Conservation area, stopping en route at the historic site of Olduvai Gorge ” The cradle of mankind”. It was here that Louis and Mary Leakey found early human fossils back in 1959. Near the gorge you will stop at the Shifting sands, a remarkable black dune, composed of volcanic ash from Oldonyo Lengai. The dune is some 9 meters high and 100 meters long and is being blown westward at the rate of about 100 meters every 6 years.

• Day 11 Ngorongoro Crater

  After breakfast we will descend to the crater floor for a full day exploring this unique ecosystem and sanctuary of the black rhino. Picnic lunch in the crater.
  The area contains over 25,000 large animals including black rhinoceros, wildebeests,  zebras, eland, Grant’s and Thomson’s gazelles. The crater also has the densest known population of lions, numbering 62. Higher up, in the rainforests of the crater rim, are leopards, about 30 large elephants, mountain reedbuck and more than 4,000 buffalos, spotted hyenas, jackals, rare wild dogs, cheetahs, and other felines.

• Day 12 Departure Day

  After breakfast, drive back to Arusha. Lunch at Arusha Coffee Lodge. Thereafter transfer to Kilimanjaro airport for your onward flight.  BL
