Overnight Arumeru River Lodge
After breakfast proceed towards your next destination, Tarangire National Park, a quiet and scenic park with giant baobab trees and the park has some of the highest population density of elephants in Tanzania. Tarangire River attracts wide variety and concentration of migratory animal including elephant, wildebeest, zebra, eland and oryx. Tarangire is also a bird lovers’ paradise, with about 450 species.

Morning departure to Manyara National Park, Ernest Hemingway wrote that it was “the loveliest he had seen in Africa” …. This relatively small wilderness reserve was named after the alkaline lake filled with thousands of flamingos roaming the banks for food and hippos bathing in the waters. However the most famous inhabitants of this park are the tree-climbing lions. Picnic lunch in the park. In afternoon, you will proceed towards your next destination, the Ngorongoro Highlands.

Today an early start takes you to the magnificent Ngorongoro Crater, a world-renowned conservation area and UNESCO World Heritage Site. The large volcanic caldera, which stands at 2236m above sea level and spans an area of 259 square kilometers, teems with wildlife and is considered to be one of the Wonders of the Natural World. Dotted with watering holes that attract a diverse variety of game, the bottom of the crater is home to more than 30 000 animals which are enclosed and protected by the slopes of the volcano. You will spend the day exploring this spectacular area, soaking up the breathtaking natural scenery and experiencing the incredible array of fauna and flora that reside within it.
Overnight Olduvai Camp BLD
After saying goodbye to your Maasai hosts, you will head to the Serengeti National Park and spend the next two days exploring what is probably the most famous national park in the world. The Serengeti is famed for its annual migration, when some six million hooves pound the open plains, as more than 200,000 zebra and 300,000 Thomson’s gazelle join the wildebeest’s trek for fresh grazing. Yet even when the migration is quiet, the Serengeti offers arguably the most scintillating game-viewing in Africa: great herds of buffalo, smaller groups of elephant and giraffe, and thousands upon thousands of eland, topi, kongoni, impala and Grant’s gazelle. And Serengeti’s predator concentration is high year-round.

A full day of game viewing split between Serengeti and Ngorongoro plains.A nice drive among changing landscapes, punctuated with some encounters. Maybe this drive will give you the chance to watch some animals peacefully drinking or relaxing on the top of Kopjes, you may also spot some red Massaï blanket on the horizon ! This day is the opportunity to learn more about the Ngorongoro Conservation Area.

This morning you will visit the Olduvai Gorge and the Olduvai museum. It was here that Louis and Mary Leakey found early human fossils back in 1959. Late morning depart to Karatu, lunch at Bashay Rift Lodge, after lunch drive back to Arusha and transfer to Kilimanjaro airport for your flight back . BL
